PARISH MEMBERSHIP

Welcome to Saint Rita Church! For over 90 years our parish has served the spiritual needs of this community. We invite you to register using the white registration form found at each entrance. Please join us, as together we worship God and grow in love for one another under the protection of our patroness, Saint Rita of Cascia.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

Please contact the Rectory Office to make arrangements to attend the baptism preparation class. Families must be registered, practicing members of the parish for at least 3 months prior to having their baby baptized. Please note that it is possible for expectant parents to attend the preparation class before the birth of their child.

SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY

Please contact the Rectory Office to obtain an application to begin marriage preparation. It is necessary that one be a registered, practicing member of the parish at least 3 months before preparation begins. Diocesan regulations require 6 months of marriage preparation. Living together before marriage is sinful and harmful to future marriage. Couples who are living together will be asked to live separately during the marriage preparation time.

HOSPITALIZED AND HOMEBOUND PARISHIONERS

Please notify the Rectory Office so that the hospitalized and homebound may receive pastoral care from the priests and volunteers of Saint Rita Parish.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Please contact the Rectory Office. Sponsor eligibility certificates to serve as baptismal godparents or confirmation sponsors will be issued only to parishioners registered for at least six months and who are attending Sunday Mass weekly.

CCD SCHOOL OF RELIGION

Sunday: 10:15–11:30 am (K–12) and 2:00–3:30 pm

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF CATHOLIC MARRIAGE PREPARATION

  1. Thou shalt be very happy ... congratulations on your engagement!
  2. Thou shalt contact your pastor immediately ... before setting a date.
  3. Thou shalt prepare for marriage at least six months in advance with your priest and parish.
  4. Thou shalt assemble all the requested paperwork for marriage.
  5. Thou shalt take a marriage retreat, i.e., Engaged Encounter or Conference for the Engaged.
  6. Thou shalt remember to keep holy thine courtship and engagement.
  7. Thou shalt have regular recourse to the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation.
  8. Thou shalt not be cohabiting: live apart to love ... as Our Lord would expect of his followers.
  9. Thou shalt honor the virtue of chastity for thine own holiness and as an example to others.
  10. Thou shalt expect to be richly blessed for honoring God in this very special time.
